Viral ngayon ang isang napakagandang babae na ito na kung saan ay hindi kinaya ang depression.

Sa post ng isang netizen na si Neil Edward D. Diaz ibinahagi niya ang kalunos-lunos na sinapit ni Aubrey So dahil hindi na nito kinaya ang depression kaya naman nagpakamatay ito.

Si Aubrey ay isang artist at miyembro siya ng Guhit Pinas. Makikita din sa mga huling post niya na nagpapaalam na talaga siya. Dahil puro ito tungkol sa depression.

RIP Aubrey So.

She was an artist, a Guhit Pinas member and before she took her life, her latest (and last) contribution was an art about depression.

The rate at which suicide is getting more and more prevalent among youth is quite alarming. The use of social media can be an extremely toxic activity for already depressed people.

Mabuti na i-share natin kung depressed tayo pero mas mainam sana kung may karamay tayong ibang tao na handang makinig. Let us not succumb to what these pages suggest na suicide is the answer.

It is equally important for us to be sensitive and help people who tend to post suicidal statuses. Support them and stay with them and make them feel that they are not alone. If it doesn’t work then seek for professional help. Depression is more than just sadness. It is a form of sickness that sometimes needs medical and psychiatric remedies.

Above all, we need to be kind to one another, especially to our own selves.

DEPRESSION IS DIFFERENT FROM SADNESS OR GRIEF/BEREAVEMENT.

Sadness, grief/bereavement: ito yung pagiging malungkot dahil sa iniwan ka, namatayan ka, may pinagdadaanan kang hindi ka aya aya.

Depression: is actually a mental health issue. Hindi mo basta2 masasabing may depression ka kesyo trip mo lang, o dahil malungkot ka lang, o nakikiuso ka lang.

Kaya ang hirap pag usapan ng depression dito sa pinas dahil sa ngayon considered pa rin as a taboo ang pagpapa check sa mga psychiatrist. Porke nagpa check ka lang sasabihan ka nang baliw o di kaya may deperensya sa utak. Kaya tuloy minsan iyong mga taong NEED ng medical attention ay nababalewala. Mas gugustuhin na lang nilang manahimik o gumawa ng mga bagay na hindi nila dapat gawin.

No guys, hindi nyo pwede sabihing DASAL, FAITH, SI GOD LANG ang kailangan. No. Hindi kayo maiintindihan ng taong dumadaan sa depression pag yan ang sinabi nyo sa kanya. Hindi nya kailangan ng lecture nyo. Hindi nya kailangan tanggapin ang religious views nyo dahil para sa kanya, madilim ang mundo. I am not against anything religious and I believe in prayer and God as well because I am a Catholic muself but in a medical professional’s point of view, ang kailangan ng taong may depression ay counseling at medication, and sige sabihin na rin natin dasal. But DASAL alone won’t help. Trust me.

When a person undergoes depression, iba ang biochemistry nila kumpara sa mga taong hindi depressed. Ang chemicals na need ng tao to be happy ay mababang mababa o almost non existent sa kanila kaya iba ang takbo ng isip nila. NO, HINDI SILA BALIW. Kulang lang ang “HAPPY HORMONES” nila. May imbalance sa SEROTONIN, NOREPINEPHRINE and DOPAMINE sa system nila. Hindi lang ito dahil sa malungkot sila, kundi mismong katawan nila ang kalaban nila. HINDI ITO FEELING LANG. This is a serious illness. Treatable naman ito through anti-depressants and witness ako na nagagamot ito dahil may kaibigan akong nag undergo ng treatment for 6months. And now she’s a happy mother to her son.

Kailangan nila ng kausap at ng taong makakaintindi sa kanila. Kailangan nila ng support system. HINDI NILA KAILANGAN ANG PANGHUHUSGA NINYO. AT LALONG WAG NIYO SILANG SISIHIN KUNG BAKIT SILA MAY GANITO.

WALA KAYONG KARAPATANG SABIHING MAY MAS MABIGAT PANG PROBLEMA KESA SA PINAGDADAANAN NILA. Ginawa tayo ng Diyos na magkakaiba. Kanya-kanyang coping mechanism lang yan. AT HINDI NYO PWEDE SABIHING OA LANG TALAGA SILANO NAGPAPA PANSIN LANG SILA DAHIL PARA SA KANILA, WALA NANG PAG-ASA.

If you know someone who shows signs and symptoms of depression, please talk to them, tell them to have themselves checked. Samahan niyo sila. Maaari nyong sabihin na magdasal BUT PLEASE, DO IT WITH THEM. Wag nyo silang iwan. Pakinggan nyo sila. Bigyan nyo sila ng panahon. Dahil di nyo alam na baka five minutes lang ng oras nyo ang kailangan para di niya maituloy ang balak niya.
